When I finished school, I didn’t know what I wanted to do. I fell into customer service and sales and have held numerous roles during my career in a large global organisation.
I wanted a change, so having always had a passion for maths, and taking pleasure in problem-solving and helping people, I decided to retrain in accounting.
Based in Stockport, I’m a big family man which is why I wanted to provide the best for them. I wanted to push myself as much as possible so decided to undertake the retraining in my own time.
In 2023 I achieved full AAT qualifications and have been working with a small number of local businesses for 3 years, including online bookkeeping, self-assessments tax returns and HMRC support. This has provided vital experience alongside my studies.
I chose to study personal tax, sole traders/partnerships and limited liability companies as my optional units, as this was of most interest to me and gave me the best insight to be able to help other people once qualified.
From a customer service and sales background, I have learnt many skills - both physical and mental. I now understand a variety of business operations and financial processes and have gained vast experience in customer service support.

I am now using all this and my qualifications to increase my customer portfolio. Being newly qualified means, I have the most recent training available and I’m familiar with the most recent practices.

Excellent service, very helpful, professional, and more importantly stood by our side against penalty charges from HMRC. Assisting with the return of 3 years of old Self Assessments from 8 years ago. An impossible task for most, but not BartBBK.
